The cap screw was really on there. I was able to free it with the tappet screw plug tool and a ratchet with socket. I also cleaned out my tappet screen at the same time and found that I have a extra steel ball which is at the bottom of the filter screen assembly. I don't see this ball in the parts diagram as part of any tappet screen on any year?
